Famous Rapper B.G. Faces Legal Trouble: Indicted on Gun and Conspiracy Charges
Breaking News: Federal Grand Jury Indicts Rapper B.G. on Gun and Conspiracy Charges
It’s shocking news in the world of hip-hop as New Orleans rapper B.G. finds himself in legal trouble. The 30-year-old rapper, known by his real name Christopher Dorsey, has been indicted on gun and conspiracy charges by a federal grand jury. U.S. Attorney Jim Letten revealed that Dorsey faces two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
If convicted, B.G. could potentially be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine on the gun charges, and up to 20 years in prison along with a fine of $250,000 on the conspiracy charge. The charges stem from a 2009 traffic stop where officers discovered three guns, two of which were reported stolen. Dorsey was arrested alongside two others in the vehicle, Demounde Pollard and Jerod Fedison.
The indictment alleges that Dorsey conspired with Pollard and Fedison to obstruct justice by pressuring Pollard to sign a false affidavit claiming Dorsey did not possess the three firearms on November 3, 2009. Both Pollard and Fedison have already pleaded guilty in the case and are awaiting sentencing.
As of now, it remains unclear whether B.G. has legal representation, as a telephone listing for him couldn’t be found. Despite this legal trouble, B.G. is well-known in the music industry, particularly for his involvement in the group Hot Boys alongside rappers Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. One of the group’s most popular songs, “Bling Bling,” released in 1999, cemented their place in hip-hop history.
