Discover the Rolling Stones’ latest masterpiece: ‘Hackney Diamonds’ – Find out what they have to say about their new album!

Ronnie Wood, the guitarist who joined the Rolling Stones in 1975, holds dear the band’s six decades of timelessness despite Mick Jagger’s dismissal of the band as just “only a band.” In a recent interview from his apartment in Barcelona, Wood emphasized the importance of keeping the institution of the Rolling Stones alive and thriving.

The band’s latest album, titled “Hackney Diamonds,” draws its name from London slang. Hackney, a borough in East London known for its rough past but now showing signs of gentrification, inspired the concept of “Hackney diamonds” – bits of broken glass from car windshields left shattered after break-ins. Wood described the album as being “in-your-face” with explosive tracks that capture the essence of the band’s raw energy.

Mick Jagger, speaking from Paris with elegant French gentry paintings in the background, shared that creating the new album brought back a sense of urgency to the band. With band members Jagger, Keith Richards, and Wood all well into their seventies and eighties, the pressure to finish the album and plan a tour pushed the band to set a deadline of Valentine’s Day 2023.

Despite the band’s aging members, the Rolling Stones have continued to tour throughout the 2010s and 2020s, even without releasing new albums. Although the band had begun working on songs in some studios, they struggled to complete them. Jagger and Richards had accumulated a backlog of new material individually, waiting for the band to come together and infuse their iconic collaborative touch.

As the band moves forward, their commitment to their music and fans remains unwavering. The Rolling Stones have always embodied resilience and passion throughout their storied career, and their dedication to creating music that resonates with fans has solidified their legendary status in the music world.
