Exclusive: Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign’s Highly Anticipated Album Launch Delayed – Find Out When!
Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have decided to postpone their anticipated “multi stadium listening event” for their upcoming joint album. Originally planned for Friday, the event will not be taking place, nor will the album be released that night, as sources tell Billboard.
On October 23, Ty Dolla $ign teased plans for the event on social media, hinting at an event similar to the massive Donda listening events hosted by Kanye West in 2021. The post on Ty’s Instagram account simply included the yen “Y” symbol combined with a dollar-sign symbol and the text “multi stadium listening event November 3rd.”
While an official album release date has not been announced, Billboard previously reported on October 13 that the two artists have been collaborating on a joint album which they have been shopping to distributors. Although November 3 was never confirmed as the album release date, it was widely speculated that the duo might drop the album after the listening event.
This is not the first time the release of this album has been delayed. Initially set for release on October 13, the album was postponed as Kanye’s team continued to work on a distribution deal. Subsequently, there were reports that Kanye’s team was working in Italy to secure a venue for a concert that would double as a listening party. However, plans for the concert in Italy were deemed “very unlikely” to proceed.
Currently, Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign are readjusting their plans. With limited time and no venue announced, the feasibility of staging the event this weekend seems doubtful. Factors such as the need for preplanning with local officials, expensive insurance policies, and communication with fans further complicate the logistics, especially as many stadiums are already booked for football or soccer events.
Furthermore, hosting an event of this scale would require significant financial backing, with costs estimated to exceed $5 million for booking and event staffing at multiple major stadiums. Despite this, Kanye has faced challenges securing a major agent since parting ways with CAA a year ago due to a series of antisemitic statements.
Recently, a representative for Kanye approached booking agency WME to potentially represent him, but WME declined the offer, illustrating the difficulty Kanye is facing in securing representation. In light of his controversial remarks and behavior, some have called for his business partners to stop working with him until he addresses these issues and seeks help for his mental health struggles.
Despite the challenges Kanye faces, many who have worked with him in the past express a willingness to collaborate again if he undergoes personal growth and acknowledges his past actions. While his talent as an artist is recognized, the importance of mental health and personal accountability cannot be overlooked.
