Legendary Rock Icons The Rolling Stones Headlining Jazz Fest 2024 – Don’t Miss Out!
The Rolling Stones, legendary British rock icons, have announced that they will be headlining the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Thursday, May 2, as part of their 2024 North American tour. This highly anticipated performance comes early on in the tour, which kicks off on April 28 in Houston. The festival had originally scheduled the Stones to perform at the 50th-anniversary event in 2019, but had to cancel due to Mick Jagger’s heart surgery at the time. However, they made up for it with a show at the Superdome a few months later, marking their first performance in New Orleans in 25 years.
Due to their history of cancellations and rescheduling, it hasn’t been easy for Jazz Fest to secure the Stones for a performance. They tried again in 2021, planning a special standalone Wednesday event, but had to cancel all events due to a surge in Covid-19 cases. Now, in 2024, the Stones are finally set to take the stage at the festival, bringing their electrifying live show to the New Orleans Fair Grounds.
For Louisiana residents eager to see the Rolling Stones live, there are some important dates to keep in mind. Locals Thursday tickets will be available for $50 and will go on sale at a later date. A limited number of general admission tickets for May 2 will go on sale starting at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, and will end at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. These tickets will require a Louisiana billing zip code. General public ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1.
In addition to the Rolling Stones’ performance, Jazz Fest will offer four-day general admission tickets, a new GA+ option, and VIP packages for both weekends starting on Dec. 1. The festival has also added an eighth day to the 2024 event, now opening on Thursday, April 25, and continuing through Sunday, April 28, and from Thursday, May 2, through Sunday, May 5.
The Rolling Stones recently released “Hackney Diamonds,” their first album of original material since 2005 and their first without drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021. The band has been teasing a 2024 world tour with cryptic ads featuring their iconic tongue and lips logo appearing in cities across the globe.
Jazz Fest is expected to announce its full 2024 lineup in January, so stay tuned for more exciting information. For more details and ticket information, visit the official New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival website.
