Shock Allegations: Guns N’ Roses Frontman Axl Rose Faces Accusations of Sexual Assault

Singer Axl Rose, the frontman of legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses, has found himself embroiled in a legal battle after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1989. The court filing, reported by US media outlets and seen by Agence France-Presse, details the allegations made by actress and model Sheila Kennedy against Rose, now 61 years old.

In the complaint submitted under the N.Y. Adult Survivors Act, Kennedy alleges that Rose sexually assaulted her in a New York hotel room after the pair met in a nightclub. She claims that she did not consent to the act and felt overpowered by Rose’s actions.

The lawsuit seeks for Rose, whose real name is William Bruce Rose, to face a jury trial and for the jury to award Kennedy punitive damages. Kennedy’s lawyers argue that Rose abused his fame, status, and power in the music industry to manipulate, control, and assault her.

The incident allegedly involved Rose forcing anal sex on Kennedy, causing lifelong emotional, physical, psychological, and financial impacts on her life. Kennedy feared physical violence from Rose if she tried to resist or push him away, leading her to endure the assault out of fear for her safety.

This case comes on the heels of a similar complaint filed under the Adult Survivors Act against rapper Sean Combs by R&B singer Cassie. Despite the parties reportedly reaching a settlement shortly after the lawsuit was filed, the details of the resolution remain undisclosed.

Guns N’ Roses, known for classic hits like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” rose to fame in the late 1980s with their brash rock sound. The band faced internal conflicts, culminating in Rose and guitarist Slash parting ways in 1993 after a show in Buenos Aires.

As the legal battle unfolds, Axl Rose has yet to comment publicly on the accusations brought against him. The music world watches closely as this controversy surrounding one of rock’s most iconic figures continues to develop.
