Shocking Allegations: Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose Faces Lawsuit for Alleged 1989 Sexual Assault
Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose is currently facing a lawsuit from former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy, who alleges that Rose sexually assaulted her at a party back in 1989. Kennedy’s legal representatives filed the summons and complaint on November 22 under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, requesting a jury trial.
According to Kennedy’s lawsuit, she met Rose at a nightclub and was invited to a party in his New York hotel room. Kennedy initially consented to Rose’s advances, but changed her mind when he became aggressive during a sexual encounter with another model. When Kennedy attempted to leave, Rose allegedly blocked her exit, threw her to the floor, dragged her back to his bedroom, and tied her hands with pantyhose.
The lawsuit further details that Rose anally raped Kennedy without a condom, causing her physical and emotional distress. Kennedy was diagnosed with anxiety and depression following the assault and has difficulty with intimacy and avoids scenarios where she might hear Rose’s music.
Alan S. Gutman, Axl Rose’s attorney, denies the allegations, stating that the incident never took place. Rose claims to have no recollection of meeting or speaking to Kennedy and is confident that the case will be resolved in his favor.
