Shocking Allegations: Rock Legend Axl Rose Faces Sexual Assault Lawsuit
Axl Rose, the frontman of Guns N’ Roses, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault from former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy. Kennedy filed a lawsuit in the New York Supreme Court accusing Rose of sexually assaulting her back in 1989. According to court documents, Kennedy claimed that Rose targeted her at the peak of his commercial fame, inviting her to his hotel room for a party after a concert in NYC.
Kennedy alleged that after exiting Rose’s bathroom, he pushed her against the wall and kissed her. Despite finding Rose attractive, Kennedy was uncomfortable when Rose began encouraging group sex with two other models present. She claimed she did not consent to such activities and when she tried to leave, Rose allegedly knocked her to the floor and dragged her back to the bed, tying her hands with pantyhose before engaging in sexual activity.
The assault left Kennedy with lifelong emotional, physical, psychological, and financial impacts, as well as PTSD. As a result, she is suing Rose for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and gender-motivated violence.
Dr. Ann Olivarius, Chair of the Executive Committee at McAllister Olivarius, stated that Kennedy’s decision to file the lawsuit is a crucial moment for the music industry to address the culture of violence and sexual misconduct that has been prevalent for decades.
In response to the allegations, Rose’s attorney denied the incident ever occurred, stating that Rose has no recollection of meeting or speaking to the plaintiff and is confident the case will be resolved in his favor.
Rose, a long-standing member of Guns N’ Roses, has a controversial past, including his alleged involvement in a gang rape of his then-girlfriend, a 15-year-old minor, back in the 1980s. Despite being arrested for statutory rape, the charges were eventually dropped.
