Just like “The General,” “Perhaps” also has roots in Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy sessions. Their most recent music prior to these two singles were “Hard Skool” and “Absurd,” both of which were unreleased tracks from the Chinese Democracy era but were revamped by the band’s current lineup.
This latest song release comes amidst controversy as Axl Rose faced allegations of sexual assault from a former model in a lawsuit. However, Rose has vehemently denied these claims through his attorney, emphasizing that the alleged incident never took place.
Going back to 2019, bassist Duff McKagan hinted at the band’s work towards their first album together since “The Spaghetti Incident?” in 1993. McKagan expressed excitement about the new material Axl Rose had been working on, teasing fans about the potential for a new album release.
