Breaking: Kanye West Sparks Outrage Among Fans with Yet Another Album Delay
Kanye West’s fans are in an uproar as the rapper seemed to postpone the release of his new joint album with Ty Dolla Sign. The 46-year-old artist, now going by the name “Ye”, announced that his upcoming record, Vultures, would hit the shelves on Friday, December 15 – marking his comeback to the music scene after facing several controversies over the past year, including his anti-Semitic outbursts. West teased the eagerly awaited album during a listening party in Miami, Florida, on Tuesday, which caused outrage when he appeared wearing a black pointed robe reminiscent of the Ku Klux Klan.
During the party, West played a version of his track “New Body” without Nicki Minaj’s verse and later urged the rapper to clear their collaboration from three years ago. However, as of this morning, the album was still nowhere to be found, leaving fans disappointed and critics expressing their frustration on social media platforms. West is notorious for announcing album releases and then failing to meet the deadlines, as was the case with his 2020 albums God’s Country and Donda: With Child, both of which are yet to be released.
The hashtag #Kanye was trending on Twitter with hundreds of thousands of posts discussing the delayed album launch and the technical difficulties during a livestream of a Vultures listening party in Las Vegas. Fans described how it seemed like West was making a beat on his iPhone keyboard when the music cut out, leading to rumors that the police had shut down the event over permit issues.
One fan jokingly remarked, “The music went off at the Vultures Rave so Kanye decided to dance to the beat of him typing,” highlighting the chaotic turn of events. The livestream blackout saw fans amused as West was captured hugging rapper Kid Cudi and seemingly resolving their feud over Pete Davidson, who was romantically involved with West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
West has faced severe backlash for his insensitive comments, including tweeting about being “going death con 3 on Jewish people” and expressing admiration for Hitler. These remarks led to Adidas severing ties with West over his “unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous comments,” resulting in the termination of their Yeezy business deal.
Despite the controversies, anticipation remains high for Vultures, which is said to feature collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Lil Baby, and even West’s 10-year-old daughter, North. If West’s past album release history is any indication, fans may have to wait a little longer for Vultures to make its much-anticipated debut.
