Get Ready to Be Spooked: Kanye West Drops Eerie Teaser Trailer for New Album “Vultures”
Kanye West is captivating fans with a sneak peek of his highly anticipated album, Vultures. The rapper released a teaser trailer for his collaborative project with Ty Dolla $ign, under the superduo name ¥$. Directed by Jon Rafman, the trailer features eerie clips of smiling clowns, explosions, wolves, civilians in masks and robes, and, of course, vultures. The trailer ends with the exciting revelation that Vultures will be divided into three volumes, with the first volume set to drop on Feb. 9, followed by the second and third volumes on March 8 and April 5.
On his Instagram Stories, Kanye West unveiled the unique cover art for each volume of Vultures. In November, West surprised fans with a performance of his song “Vultures” at Lil Durk’s concert in Blu Dubai, alongside Ty Dolla $ign. The performance, captured on Instagram Stories by the night club, showcased West rapping controversial lyrics from the track, including lines like “How am I antisemitic? I just f—ed a Jewish b****.”
Aside from the controversial lyrics, West also seemed to reference his former manager, Scooter Braun, in the song. Furthermore, he made a questionable mention of the Columbine High School shooting tragedy. In December, Nicki Minaj shut down West’s request to include the track “New Body” in Vultures, which had been on hold since 2018.
West initiated the request by sharing a screenshot of a text message he appeared to have sent to Minaj asking for permission to feature “New Body” on Vultures. Although Minaj did not respond immediately to the text, she addressed the situation in an Instagram Live, explaining that the song would not be released as the moment had passed. She emphasized that she had just released a new album and saw no reason to revive a song that had been shelved for three years.
