The Rolling Stones Unveil Exclusive Clip from “The Rolling Stones Live at the Wiltern” DVD
The iconic rock band, The Rolling Stones, has released a sneak peek of their upcoming DVD, “The Rolling Stones Live at the Wiltern,” featuring a performance of “Dance, Part 1.” The electrifying performance took place on November 4, 2002, at the intimate Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.
The show was part of The Rolling Stones’ 40th-anniversary tour in celebration of their milestone as a band, as well as the release of the “40 Licks” compilation album in September 2002. Unlike their usual arena and stadium gigs, the Wiltern Theatre with a more intimate capacity of under 2,000, allowed the band to delve deep into their extensive catalog of songs. The setlist included classics such as “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” and a cover of B.B. King’s “Rock Me Baby.”
The highly anticipated “The Rolling Stones Live at the Wiltern” will be available in various formats including DVD, two-CD, Blu-ray, and more on March 8.
In a bold response to critics questioning their age and capability to rock on stage, Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones expressed to Rolling Stone in 2002, “People want to pull the rug out from under you because they’re bald and fat and can’t move for shit. It’s pure physical envy – that we shouldn’t be here.” Richards emphasized that the band is here to defy misconceptions and stereotypes about rock and roll.
Following the release of the DVD, The Rolling Stones are gearing up for a new North American tour set to kick off on April 28.
