The 2024 inductees for the Grammy Hall of Fame have been revealed, and it’s an impressive lineup of iconic albums and recordings that have shaped the cultural landscape of music.
Among the esteemed inductees are Lauryn Hill’s “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Appetite For Destruction,” and De La Soul’s “3 Feet High and Rising.” These albums will be honored at the inaugural Grammy Hall of Fame gala and concert on May 21 at the Novo Theater in Los Angeles.
In addition to these iconic albums, recordings from Buena Vista Social Club, Donna Summer, Charley Pride, Wanda Jackson, Kid Ory’s Creole Orchestra, the Doobie Brothers, and William Bell will also be recognized. These recordings have been deemed to exhibit qualitative or historical significance and are at least 25 years old, meeting the Grammy Hall of Fame’s guidelines.
Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, expressed pride in the diverse mix of recordings being inducted this year. He highlighted the profound influence each of these albums has had on music and beyond. Michael Sticka, President/CEO of the Grammy Museum, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the talent and hard work of the artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers behind these seminal recordings.
The Hall Of Fame Gala on May 21 will mark the beginning of an annual event that includes a red carpet and VIP reception at the Grammy Museum’s Ray Charles Terrace, followed by a one-of-a-kind concert at the Novo.
