Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband Claps Back with Surprising Response to Her Latest Lawsuit – You Won’t Believe His Reaction!
Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, talent manager Brandon Blackstock, has recently responded to her latest legal filing, requesting a California judge to dismiss Clarkson’s claim that he acted improperly as her manager during their marriage. People has obtained court documents that Blackstock filed on Monday, asking for the dismissal of Clarkson’s legal filing from March of 2024. Clarkson alleged that Blackstock and his father’s agency, Starstruck Entertainment, violated labor laws dating back to 2007.
Clarkson claims that Blackstock improperly charged her for deals with The Voice, Wayfair, Norwegian Cruise Line, and the Billboard Music Awards, and she is requesting the return of all commissions, fees, profits, advances, producing fees, or other payments she made on those deals. In November of 2023, a California labor commissioner ordered Blackstock to repay $2.6 million in commissions and fees for overstepping the bounds of his job, a decision that Blackstock is currently appealing.
In response to Clarkson’s legal complaint, Blackstock refutes every allegation and asserts that the suit lacks jurisdiction since Clarkson failed to file a notice of appeal within 10 days of the labor commissioner’s ruling. He also states that the money collected from the commissions was already paid into their joint assets during their divorce settlement, and Clarkson has not presented sufficient evidence to support a cause of action against Starstruck.
Clarkson and Blackstock got married in 2013, and she filed for divorce in 2020, with the legal disputes finally settled in 2022 after battles over property, child support, and challenges to their prenuptial agreement. The singer received primary custody of their two children and a ranch in Wyoming, paying Blackstock a $1.3 million settlement. Additionally, she was ordered to pay $45,000 per month in child support and $115,000 per month in spousal support, ending in January 2024.
Kelly Clarkson has recently purchased a stunning new mansion in California, following the sale of her estate in Nashville. The new mansion purchase came after four years on the market, where the singing superstar and television personality received $6.3 million for the 20,121-square-foot mansion, featuring 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. The pop star continues to navigate legal battles and personal transitions while maintaining an impressive real estate portfolio.
