Watch as First Responders Battle it Out in the High-Stakes 25th Annual Guns N’ Hoses Boxing Charity Event!
Welcome to Music Nation 365, where we bring you the latest updates on music events and happenings around the world! Today, we have an exciting story to share about amateur fighters from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department who are gearing up to face off for charity in the 25th annual Jax Guns N’ Hoses boxing event.
Thirteen fighters from each side will be stepping into the ring for three one-minute rounds of intense boxing action. While fists will be flying, it’s all in good fun and for a great cause as the event aims to raise funds for local charities and support the community.
One of the organizers, JSO officer Trevor Hall, shared, “We raise a ton of money for charities. We’re doing this for charity. We raise quite a bit.” The JFRD lieutenant, Brady Acosta, also expressed his excitement about being able to help families through the event, stating, “It means the world. We all join this line of work to help, and getting the opportunity to get in the ring and fight our other brothers and sisters and raise money for that is awesome.”
The organizers are determined to surpass last year’s fundraising efforts, where they managed to raise around $50,000 in 2023. The proceeds from the event will be split between the Muscular Dystrophy Association, supported by JFRD, and Jacksonville’s Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, backed by the officers.
With both sides eager to claim victory, the atmosphere is sure to be electric at the event. Stay tuned for more updates on the 25th annual Guns N’ Hoses boxing event, where police officers and firefighters will battle it out in the ring for a good cause.
