Among his prized possessions are the drum machine used in the making of Beastie Boys’ ‘License to Ill’ and Slick Rick’s ‘The Great Adventures of Slick Rick.’ But that’s not all – Questlove also owns Prince’s tambourine, Michael Jackson’s drummer John Robinson’s snare from the “Rock With You” sessions, Jennifer Lopez’s robe, and more.
In a recent TikTok video, Questlove showcased these iconic items, revealing a side of himself as a legendary music maker with an enviable collection. The video, which was his first on the platform, marked his official debut on TikTok.

In a recent anecdote shared on De La Soul’s Apple Music 1 show, Questlove recounted a time when Prince unexpectedly showed up at the studio during their recording session for the song “View.”
During the session, Prince expressed interest in playing Clive Davis his 2001 album ‘Rave In2 the Joy Fantastic,’ leading to De La Soul being abruptly kicked out of their own studio. Despite this interruption, Questlove fondly recalled drumming the line, “I may be old school, but I’m not an old fool,” noting it as one of his all-time favorite moments.
