This price hike was necessitated by a variety of factors, including higher food costs due to inflation and an increased cost of employing enough workers for each location post-pandemic.

Furthermore, Cracker Barrel has seen a consistent decrease in foot traffic throughout all its locations, with more than a 7 percent drop over the past five quarters. While the executive did not delve into the exact reasons for this decline in foot traffic, past instances of decreasing numbers have been linked to ineffective marketing, reduced dining out due to inflation, and necessary improvements in the guest experience.
