Rick Ross Roasts Drake for Invitation Rejection by Rising Star Victor Wembanyama
Drake’s concert in Austin, Texas last fall is creating quite a buzz once again, thanks to some unexpected revelations involving NBA star Victor Wembanyama. The incident, which took place during one of Drizzy’s shows at Austin’s Moody Center, has recently come to light through a podcast interview with former NBA player J.J. Redick.
In the interview on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, Redick disclosed details he had heard from the “Spurs camp” about the show. He mentioned that there was a Drake concert in Austin where the rapper was inviting NBA players on stage. Wembanyama asked if he could bring his teammates along, but Drake’s camp declined the request. Unwilling to go on stage without his teammates, Wembanyama decided to skip the opportunity.
This story caught the attention of Drake’s adversary Rick Ross, who wasted no time in poking fun at the situation. The RapTV Instagram account shared the news, prompting Ross to comment, “Respectfully declined. The young ones see it too.”
Over time, Rick Ross has taken multiple shots at Drake, especially following Drake’s disses on “Push Ups (Drop and Give Me 50).” Ross has responded through songs and social media jabs. Most recently, Ross taunted Drake over his relationship with Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown while also throwing shade at Birdman.
In a video flaunting his luxury car collection online, Ross questioned whether Drake should have shown support to another artist in a difficult situation. Ross drew parallels between the convertible in the video and Drake’s alleged interest in Millie Bobby Brown, insinuating that Drake would have been sliding into DMs if given the chance.
Drake has faced criticism in the past over his relationship with Brown, who said they communicated over text when she was 14. Both Drake and Brown have maintained that their relationship is purely platonic. Drake even addressed the situation in one of his songs, shutting down the gossip and emphasizing the innocence of their interactions.
It seems like the rivalry between Drake and Rick Ross is far from over, with Ross consistently finding ways to take subtle digs at the Canadian rapper. Only time will tell how this ongoing feud plays out in the world of hip-hop.
