Legendary Rock Icons to Receive Prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction
Exciting news for rock music fans as the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame has announced its Class of 2024! Among the distinguished inductees are legendary artists like Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner, and Peter Frampton. The official announcement was made during an episode of American Idol by host Ryan Seacrest and R&B star Lionel Richie. The induction ceremony is set to take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland on October 19.
Joining the ranks in the performer category are esteemed names like Dave Matthews Band, Cher, Mary J. Blige, Kool & The Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest. Peter Frampton expressed his overwhelming gratitude, saying, “This is something I never expected. I am overwhelmed that I will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, especially alongside so many incredible artists who have gone before me.”
MC5, Norman Whitfield, Jimmy Buffett, and Dionne Warwick will be honored with Musical Excellence Awards, a category in which Judas Priest was recognized last year. Additionally, blues icons John Mayall and the late Alexis Korner and Big Mama Thornton will be inducted in the musical influence category.
Ozzy Osbourne, who is already a member of the Hall Of Fame as part of Black Sabbath, expressed his excitement about the news, stating that he feels honored and privileged. Peter Frampton, on the other hand, is finally being recognized for his solo work, despite his former group Humble Pie being left out of the Hall Of Fame.
As of now, there is no information about the performers who will take the stage during the induction ceremony. Ozzy Osbourne’s most recent full concert performance was on New Year’s Eve in 2018. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from last year’s Power Trip Festival in California due to health issues.
Excitement is building up for the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in October, where these iconic musicians will be celebrated for their incredible contributions to the world of music. Stay tuned for more updates!
