Exciting Update: Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign Drop New Release Date for ‘Vultures 2’ Album!

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has officially announced a new tentative release date for Vultures 2, the sequel to his collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign. After changing his mind several times about the release date, Ye revealed on Justin LaBoy’s The Download podcast that Vultures 2 is set to drop on May 3, after originally being scheduled for March 8.

May 3 has been a long-rumored release date for Vultures 2, even dating back to March when West’s DMs were mistakenly leaked with a Baby Keem fan page, thinking he was messaging the real artist. This accidental leak hinted at the upcoming release date.

Ye will face stiff competition to secure another No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart this time around. Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism is also set to release on May 3, and Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department is expected to maintain its presence on the charts.

Ye and Ty Dolla independently released Vultures 1 on Feb. 10 via YZY, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 with 148,000 album-equivalent units sold in the first week. This achievement marked Ye’s 11th No. 1 album and Ty Dolla’s first. The album also gave birth to the No. 1 Hot 100 hit “Carnival” featuring Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti.

While Ye had been relatively quiet on the music scene recently, he made a grand return by contributing an unofficial remix to Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar’s track “Like That.” This remix, where Ye takes jabs at J. Cole and Drake, isn’t available on streaming platforms but was uploaded to Ye’s YouTube page on April 24.

During his conversation with LaBoy, West revealed that the “elimination” of Drake inspired him to join the remix. He recounted, “[Future] called me and I went to the studio and laid that. We went through the creative process of adding the chords and called the Hooligans out in London to get on the joint. Everybody was very, very energized about the elimination of Drake.”

Overall, Vultures 2 is shaping up to be a highly anticipated release with Ye’s return to the music spotlight. Fans can mark their calendars for May 3 to witness the arrival of this collaborative project between Ye and Ty Dolla $ign.
