Discover the Song Everyone Can’t Get Enough Of: Hozier’s ‘Too Sweet’ Takes the Top Spot on Streaming Charts!
Hozier has accomplished a momentous feat in his career, reaching the number one spot on not just the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but also on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart for the first time with his hit track “Too Sweet.”
The song secured the top position with an impressive 35.6 million official streams in the U.S. from April 12th to 18th. Despite a slight decrease from the previous week’s stream count of 36.7 million, “Too Sweet” managed to dethrone the previous number one, Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Like That,” which saw a more significant drop in streams by 13% to 34.8 million during the same period.
This achievement marks Hozier’s first number one on Streaming Songs since the chart’s inception in 2013, surpassing the success of his previous hit “Take Me to Church,” which peaked at number two in 2015.
Between the gap of “Take Me to Church” and “Too Sweet,” Hozier featured on Noah Kahan’s “Northern Attitude,” which reached number 23 on the chart last November.
Additionally, “Too Sweet” continues to dominate the Rock Streaming Songs and Alternative Streaming Songs charts for the fourth consecutive week since its debut at number one on both tallies on April 6th.
As reported earlier, “Too Sweet” also claimed the top spot on the Hot 100 chart, becoming Hozier’s first number one single and surpassing the peak of “Take Me to Church.” The track has also maintained its reign on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for all four weeks since its introduction.
The popularity of “Too Sweet” is further evidenced by its rising positions across multiple radio airplay charts, reaching peaks such as number 13 on Adult Alternative Airplay, number 20 on Rock & Alternative Airplay, number 23 on both Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay, and number 26 on Alternative Airplay.
Featured on the four-song EP titled “Unheard,” “Too Sweet” is one of the leftover tracks from Hozier’s 2023 album “Unreal Unearth.” Released on March 22nd, “Unheard” has accumulated an impressive 127,000 equivalent album units to date.
