Their latest stop was on the Kelly Clarkson Show, where host Kelly Clarkson belted out a snippet of Heart’s debut American single Crazy on You. Ann Wilson shared insights into her approach to the song, revealing, “That was the first song I ever recorded as a singer in a studio. I didn’t have a bunch of technique, but I definitely felt how to say certain words, how to jump in early sometimes, how to ‘blue note’ things… just feel that kind of stuff.”
Ann also shared the backstory of another Heart classic, Barracuda, recounting an encounter with a sleazy record company man in Detroit. The man’s inappropriate comment about her sister inspired Ann to write the iconic song. Heart’s Royal Flush tour is set to culminate on September 22 in Morrison, Colorado.
