Introducing the New Editorial Director for Three Exciting Media Brands: Elliott Wilson!

Elliott “YN” Wilson, a prominent figure in hip-hop journalism, is making a triumphant return to the scene as the newly appointed editorial director for UPROXX, HipHopDX, and Dime Magazine. This exciting announcement comes after media veteran Jarret Myer acquired all three brands to form UPROXX Studios alongside Rich Antoniello and the multi-talented will.i.am.

Wilson expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter in his career, stating, “My focus is on elevating the three rising brands to greater heights and shaping the future of media and culture. The fun begins.” This collaboration promises a fresh perspective and innovative approach to storytelling within the hip-hop genre.

Despite his new role, Wilson will continue to co-host the popular Rap Radar podcast with Brian “B. Dot” Miller. With experience at TIDAL and a previous tenure as editor-in-chief of XXL, Wilson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his latest venture.

UPROXX Studios will function as an independent entity, with Antoniello as partner/executive chairman and will.i.am as a partner/investor. The acquisition of these brands, along with other Warner Music Group assets, follows WMG CEO Robert Kyncl’s announcement of the company’s intention to divest HipHopDX and UPROXX after six years of collaboration.

Will.i.am’s FYI AI technology and FYI radio will play a crucial role in UPROXX Studios’ operations, showcasing a commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries in the media landscape. The visionary artist emphasized, “Our continuous pursuit of developing new platforms will reshape creative expression and compel the industry to evolve alongside us.”

CEO Myer foresees UPROXX Studios as a trailblazer in the media sector, emphasizing investments in technology and forward-thinking strategies. He stated, “Expect significant growth in our brands, team, and the experiences we offer. Our partnership with FYI underscores our dedication to fostering creativity and pushing the limits of digital expression.”

With a team of industry veterans and a collective vision for the future of media and culture, UPROXX Studios is poised to make a lasting impact and redefine the landscape of hip-hop journalism. Stay tuned for groundbreaking content and innovative storytelling as these iconic brands pave the way for a new era in music media.
