The Smashing Pumpkins Rockstar: Meet the Newest Member of Our Touring Family!

The Smashing Pumpkins have exciting news to share with their fans – they have officially unveiled their new guitarist! This announcement comes after the band’s search for a new six-stringer following the departure of long-serving member Jeff Schroeder earlier this year.

Back in January, the Chicago alt-rock giants put out an open call for auditions, receiving an overwhelming response of over 10,000 submissions from aspiring guitarists all around the world. After months of careful consideration, the band finally revealed the winner – Kiki Wong.

In a statement posted on their social media channels, The Smashing Pumpkins expressed their excitement about welcoming the highly-skilled veteran guitarist to their touring lineup. Alongside Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, James Iha, Jack Bates, and Katie Cole, Kiki Wong is set to bring her talent and energy to the stage.

Frontman Billy Corgan shared his thoughts on the audition process, expressing gratitude to all the musicians who submitted their materials for consideration. He praised Wong’s musical abilities, mentioning that he was already a fan of hers before she even applied for the position.

Reflecting on her new role, Kiki Wong, a member of LA rockers Vigil Of War and previously Nylon Pink, expressed her disbelief and gratitude for the opportunity. She highlighted the importance of hard work and perseverance, encouraging aspiring musicians to never lose hope and keep pushing towards their goals.

Fans of The Smashing Pumpkins won’t have to wait long to see Kiki Wong in action, as the band is set to embark on a European tour this summer. Stops include cities like Birmingham, London, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, and Cardiff, where audiences will get to experience the legendary band’s electrifying performances.
