Legendary Rolling Stones Live in Houston – Don’t Miss Their Epic Show at NRG Stadium on April 28th!
Welcome to Music Nation 365, where we bring you the latest updates from the world of music! Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of the Rolling Stones concert happening at NRG Stadium in Houston. The legendary band is kicking off their 16-city tour right here in Houston, and we got an exclusive look at how the stadium is being transformed for the show.
Setting up for a Rolling Stones concert is no easy task. It takes 150 workers, 56 trucks, and seven days of nonstop work to get everything ready. And at the helm of it all is Dale Skjerseth, the Stones’ production director. He’s the man who brings it all together and makes sure everything runs smoothly.
When asked why the band chose Houston to start their tour, Skjerseth replied, “That I don’t know, but I’m glad they did. I like Houston. It’s a good place. And it’s got a roof. And we’re indoors, so if anything goes wrong or gets too hot, we’re covered. It’s a very well climate-controlled venue and it’s easy to work there.”
This won’t be the first time the Stones have played in Houston. In fact, this will be their third appearance at the home of the Texans. The last time they were here was in 2019, and fans are eagerly anticipating their return.
Skjerseth also mentioned that all the video content for this tour is brand new, showcasing the band’s commitment to delivering a state-of-the-art performance. The crew worked tirelessly to set up the stage while the Stones themselves prepared for a rehearsal. If you’re out and about in Houston, you might just run into them enjoying some local restaurants.
On the day of the show, Gary Clark Jr., the talented blues guitarist from Austin, will be the opening act. And for Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the anticipation is high as they gear up for one of the biggest rock and roll shows on Earth.
“They’re excited,” Skjerseth shared. “They’re looking forward to it. Nervous. Like anything else, they take pride in their art.” It’s clear that after more than six decades in the music industry, the Rolling Stones still have that passion and drive to deliver a stellar performance.
If you’re thinking about attending the concert, be prepared to spend a pretty penny, especially if you want to be close to the action on the floor. However, as the famous song goes, “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need” – even if it means sitting up in the nosebleed sections.
