Bow Wow Achieves Incredible Career Milestone – You Won’t Believe How He Did It!

Bow Wow, the Ohio native, is quietly celebrating a significant milestone in his music career. His debut album, Beware of Dog, released in September 2000, has now become eligible for 4x platinum status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Taking to Twitter to share his excitement on April 25th, Bow Wow posted a photo of the album’s cover with a simple caption, “‘Beware of Dog’ now eligible for 4 X Platinum.” The album, released through So So Def Recordings and Columbia Records, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 with 101k copies sold in the first week.

Beware of Dog featured hit singles such as “Bounce With Me” with Xscape, “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” with Snoop Dogg, and “Puppy Love” with Jagged Edge, solidifying the then-13-year-old as a superstar in the music industry. The LP was certified double platinum in March 2001, making the recent 4x platinum status a significant achievement more than 20 years later.

Last month, Bow Wow hinted at his upcoming return to music, with a collaboration with close friend Chris Brown in the works. During an Instagram Live session in March, Bow Wow excitedly shared with his fans that he and Chris Brown have been working on new music together.

“Shoutout to my brother CB. I love you, brother. Thank you for the shoutout. I’m not going to make the announcement today, but me and CB got some shit. And that’s all I’m gonna say,” Bow Wow exclaimed. He further teased, “I just want to bless y’all with what I’ve been working on for so long, for the past year and a half. Music is on the way. More music is on the way.”

Notably, Bow Wow’s last album, New Jack City II, was released in 2009. Despite the gap in his album releases, he has kept his fans engaged with a series of mixtapes over the years, with the latest being 2019’s Greenlight 6.

As Bow Wow and Chris Brown gear up for their upcoming musical collaboration, fans can look forward to witnessing the reunion of these two talented artists. Previously, the duo has worked together on tracks like “Shortie Like Mine,” “Ain’t Thinkin’ ‘Bout You,” and the remix to Chris Brown’s chart-topping hit “Run It!”
