Experience the Legendary Rolling Stones at Jazz Fest on Video – Get Your Ticket to Louisiana Festivals Now!
The Rolling Stones have left an indelible mark on the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, even before their anticipated appearance. The British rock legends have caused such a stir that an eighth day had to be added to the festival’s schedule, thanks to their impending presence. Massive backstage tents have sprung up behind the Festival Stage, presumed to be the posh abode of Mick Jagger and his bandmates during their time at the Fair Grounds.
Prior to their much-anticipated performance on Thursday, the Stones will grace the Festival Stage while their show is simultaneously broadcasted on the Congo Square and Shell Gentilly stages. This unique arrangement allows Jazz Fest staff, volunteers, and vendors a chance to witness the spectacle live.
An internal memo shared with vendors highlighted the need for non-ticketed individuals to avoid crowding the Festival Stage during the performance. As the announcement stipulated, only paying customers and staff with specific work assignments will have access to this exclusive area, emphasizing limited capacity and the importance of crowd control.
With tickets to the concert completely sold out, tens of thousands of attendees had to be accommodated to accommodate the Stones’ historic appearance. To facilitate this, music on other stages will conclude by 3:45 p.m., making way for the Rolling Stones to take the stage from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Additionally, craft vendors for the second weekend have been advised to close early, with operations wrapping up by 4:30 p.m. in the Contemporary Craft area and 6 p.m. in the Congo Square region. Meanwhile, food booths will remain operational, offering festival favorites like Crawfish Monica to hungry attendees during the Stones’ performance.
Monica Davidson, the culinary maven behind the iconic seafood-pasta dish, expressed her readiness to serve fest-goers, even amidst the unique circumstances of “Stones Thursday.” Drink options will also be plentiful to keep revelers hydrated and happy throughout the day.
According to a festival spokesperson, concessions operations have been adjusted to accommodate the special schedule on May 2, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees. As the excitement builds for the Stones’ grand appearance, Jazz Fest continues its tradition of blending music with unique and memorable experiences.
The Rolling Stones recently launched their “Hackney Diamonds” tour at the NRG Stadium in Houston, marking the beginning of a spectacular musical journey that will culminate at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. With their larger-than-life presence and timeless hits, the Stones are poised to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime performance that will be etched in the memories of all fortunate enough to witness it.
