Join us in celebrating the exciting addition of Grace & Fire’s Aaron Gidney to This Winter Machine!
UK melodic proggers This Winter Machine have exciting news for their fans! They have welcomed Aaron Gidney, current Grace & Fire guitarist, into the band, where he will also continue his role in Grace & Fire. Aaron Gidney steps in to replace John Cook, who has departed to focus on his band, Age Of Distraction, that recently released their debut album, “A Game Of Whispers,” through the Gravity Dream label.
In a statement, the band expressed their delight in welcoming Aaron Gidney, stating, “We are happy to announce that our new guitarist is Aaron Gidney from respected prog-metal band, Grace & Fire.” The band had the opportunity to have Aaron fill in on guitar for two gigs in Scotland, where his presence on stage created a fantastic vibe and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audiences. This led the band to offer him a permanent position, which he gladly accepted. With Aaron now on board, This Winter Machine is already hard at work on their fifth album, currently titled “The Listening Booth,” with a targeted release date at the beginning of 2025.
Excitingly, This Winter Machine has also announced two upcoming live dates for 2024. Fans can catch them at Southampton’s The 1865 on August 4, performing alongside Stuckfish, and at the Highway Prog Festival at Eigar Studios in Leeds on September 21. Be sure to get your tickets to witness their mesmerizing live performances!
