Actor Jason Weaver Becomes a Huge Fan of Wale After Recent Encounter

Wale has gained a new fan in actor Jason Weaver, with the sitcom actor admitting that he’d been “sleeping on” the ex-MMG rapper. In a MEGAMIND Media TikTok post that was shared on Saturday (April 27), the Lion King voice actor confessed that the 39-year-old MC is a “vibe.”

“I’ve been sleeping on Wale. I haven’t been giving him a shot,” he told the person recording him at what appears to be a BBQ. “But I love his music! I’m mad that I been sleeping on him for so long!”

The Nigerian-American spitter recently gave his British peer Dave his flowers by calling him one of the “top-five” rappers alive right now. The DMV native randomly showered praise on the London-born MC on social media earlier this month after the latter posted a photo of himself wearing Louis Vuitton clothing.

“Top 5. Zero debate,” Wale quote-tweeted Dave’s post. When fellow Brit DJ Semtex asked whether he meant top five in the UK or worldwide, he replied: “This my type of talk. Top 5.”

Wale then posted a screenshot of lyrics from Dave’s 2021 song “Verdansk,” on which he raps: “Young Gs talking my name on the ends/ Gotta tell a man, ‘Please don’t risk it’/ On a right day, man ah just frisk him/ On a wrong day, I’m getting man airlifted.”

Dave, who has previously collaborated with the likes of Drake, Jack Harlow, and Burna Boy, acknowledged Wale’s “top five” praise and returned the favor by calling him a “legend.” The D.C. rapper then replied: “MagicCityDave is my favorite rapper of all time.”

The friendly exchange continued when Dave wrote that he plans to be “as big of a producer as a rapper soon,” to which Wale said: “He like me fr. Im on the mpc daily.”

Dave’s last album “We’re All Alone In This Together” was released in July 2021 with features from James Blake, Wizkid, Stormzy, Giggs, Snoh Aalegra, Fredo, Ghetts, Meekz, and Boj. The album debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, moving roughly 74,000 album-equivalent units in its first week — Dave’s second consecutive album to top the chart.
