Exciting News: Gunna Announces Album Release Date and Releases Hot New Track ‘WhatsApp (Wassam)’
Get ready to turn up the volume and vibe out because Gunna season is here, just in time for the summer! The YSL rapper has dropped the second single from his highly-anticipated “One of Wun” album, titled “WhatsApp (Wassam)”, which is now available on streaming services.
Gunna teams up with frequent collaborator Turbo for a slick chorus on this track, inspired by a six-figure wire transfer the rapper received to perform at a private party. The lyrics go, “Man, wassam/ They sent the wire through WhatsApp (WhatsApp)/ Hope ain’t nobody to cuss at/ S–t changed but it still get pushed back/ I drop, make these little n—as push back.”
Following the Offset-assisted single “Prada Dem”, “WhatsApp (Wassam)” is the second glimpse we get into Gunna’s upcoming album. The rapper has announced that “One of Wun” is set to drop on May 10th. Gunna shared the news on Instagram, along with a clip from the unreleased music video showing him having a phone conversation with Turbo the Great.
The album is packed with a total of 20 tracks, including the two singles already released. But before the album launch, Gunna will hit the road for “The Bittersweet Tour”, starting this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. This 16-date tour, produced by Live Nation, will see Gunna making stops in major cities like Chicago, Houston, Miami, Denver, Seattle, and concluding with a show in his hometown at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.
Gunna’s previous album, “A Gift & a Curse”, dropped in June 2023, marking his first release after being released from jail. The album was featureless, yet managed to top the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
