Rolling Stones Show Gratitude to New Orleans in Spectacular Concert Experience
Exciting news for music fans as The Rolling Stones finally made their long-awaited appearance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans. After facing setbacks in the past due to Mick Jagger’s health issues and the COVID-19 pandemic, the legendary band took to the stage with a new album in hand.
The anticipation for this performance was palpable, with face value tickets fetching over $200 and secondary market prices soaring even higher. But for those lucky enough to attend, the experience was well worth the cost.
The Rolling Stones treated the audience to an incredible 18-song set, featuring their classic hits as well as tracks from their latest album, “Hackneyed Diamonds.” In a nod to the city’s rich musical history, the band invited Irma Thomas on stage to perform her hit song “Time is On My Side,” which they had covered.
Not content to stick to just music, Mick Jagger also waded into local politics during the show. He took a swipe at Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, criticizing his policies and jokingly accusing him of wanting to take the state back to the Stone Age. In response, Governor Landry playfully jabbed at Jagger’s age, but ultimately extended a warm welcome to the iconic frontman.
Despite some changes to the event’s rules, the performance went off without a hitch and left fans buzzing with excitement. Even a threat of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the crowd, proving that sometimes you may not get what you want, but you’ll get what you need.
