Ice Spice Claims Nicki Minaj is ‘Ungrateful’ in Shocking Text Message Exposé – You Won’t Believe What Happened Next!
Independent alt-pop artist Baby Storme recently leaked a series of alleged text messages between her and rapper Ice Spice, also known as Isis Naija Gaston. The messages appear to reveal Ice calling out their “Barbie World” collaborator, Nicki Minaj.
In one of the alleged texts, a person listed as “Isis 2nd phone” claims to have brought Nicki Minaj onto the song for the Barbie soundtrack, contrary to what Nicki may believe. The text reads, “[The song] is an opportunity I brought [to Minaj because the] Barbie [producers] invited me to do it alone, but since that’s her brand, I invited her on, and she doesn’t even see that as me bringing her something.”
In another text, the person identified as “Isis 2nd phone” compares Nicki to a mom, describing her as “ungrateful and delusional.” The alleged messages suggest that Nicki asked for “publishing [rights] for all my songs including [third] party writing,” indicating a desire for control over any future songs Ice writes or features on.
One text implied that Ice had a collaboration with Taylor Swift before teaming up with Nicki, and that Nicki may be jealous of Ice’s ownership of their masters.
The leaked texts have not been confirmed to be from Ice Spice. Baby Storme hinted at plans to “expose” Ice in a tweet on April 27, referring to them as her “ex-best friend.”
Nicki Minaj has not responded to the alleged text messages, and Ice Spice has yet to address Baby Storme’s allegations.
“Barbie World,” the collaboration between Minaj and Ice Spice, was a chart-topping hit produced by RIOTUSA. The song sampled Aqua’s 1997 hit “Barbie Girl” and reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also earned Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song and Best Song Written for Visual Media, though it did not win in either category.
