Legendary Iron Maiden Bassist Steve Harris Takes the Stage for Exclusive Fundraising Concert with British Lion!
Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris’s side-project, British Lion, has recently announced an intimate show to support a small venue in the UK. The concert is set to take place at The Booking Hall in Dover on May 21, with the aim of helping to save the venue as the property it is housed in is up for sale.
The owner of the Old Harbour Station, where The Booking Hall is located, has decided to sell the property. This move puts the future of the music venue at immediate risk, as there is no guarantee that the venue will continue to operate under new ownership. The likely outcome is that the building might be purchased by developers, leading to the closure of the music venue.
Stuart Cameron, from The Booking Hall, expressed his gratitude for the support the venue has received since announcing plans to purchase the building. He highlighted the overwhelming response from the community and the music industry. Steve Harris and his team generously offered to perform at the fundraiser show for free, ensuring that all funds raised go towards securing the venue’s future in Dover.
Alongside British Lion, musician Tony Moore, who previously played with Harris in the 1970s as a member of Iron Maiden, will also be performing at the event. The collaboration between these iconic musicians showcases the solidarity and support for preserving live music venues.
British Lion has not only announced this special show but also revealed a short European tour. The band will start at the Cart & Horses in London on May 20, followed by appearances at the Moto Clube Festival in Portugal on July 20 and Sala Custom club in Seville, Spain, on July 21.
When British Lion played at the Cart & Horses in January, the event received a perfect five-star review from Metal Hammer journalist Alexander Milas. Milas praised the band’s dedication to delivering outstanding performances for their fans, regardless of the venue’s size or location.
The upcoming British Lion 2024 tour dates are as follows:
- May 20: London Cart & Horses, UK
- May 21: Dover The Booking Hall, UK
- Jul 20: Faro Moto Clube Festival, Portugal
- Jul 21: Seville Sala Custom, Spain
