Trophy Eyes Takes Action After Fan Suffers Injury in Shocking Concert Mishap
Australian post-punk rock group Trophy Eyes has broken their silence following a tragic incident that took place at a concert in Buffalo, NY, where a fan was seriously injured. The band immediately stopped the show and lead singer John Floreani accompanied the injured fan, identified as Bird Piché, to the hospital.
Bird’s family and friends have started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover her medical expenses after she suffered a severe spinal cord injury during the concert and had to undergo extensive surgery. Nearly half of the $100,000 goal has been raised so far, but Bird has a long road to recovery ahead.
It’s still too early to determine Bird’s prognosis, but she will require rehabilitation after leaving the hospital and will be unable to work during this time. The incident took place when Floreani jumped off the stage at Mohawk Place, resulting in the tragedy.
Trophy Eyes expressed their deep sadness over the situation and are asking for patience as they support Bird through this difficult time. The band urged everyone to keep Bird in their thoughts and promised to provide updates as they come.
Originally from Newcastle, Australia, Trophy Eyes have performed at major events like Vans Warped Tour, Reading, Leeds, and Splendour In the Grass. Their albums “Suicide and Sunshine,” “The American Dream,” and “Chemical Miracle” all reached number 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
The band’s North American tour is set to continue on Tuesday night in Denver, CO. Those interested in supporting Bird’s recovery can donate to her GoFundMe campaign.
