The partnership between DJ Quik and Problem was first seen in their 2017 album, Rosecrans. The duo announced their latest project last month with the release of the track “Workout,” featuring Lil Jon and Rodney-O, among others.
The upbeat song encourages listeners to shake off negativity and boost their mood by exercising and moving around. “Express yourself! Do ya thing in the mirror and express yourself. We all make mistakes, correct yourself,” raps Problem.
Besides the album release, DJ Quik is gearing up for the Cali to Canada Tour alongside Snoop Dogg and Warren G this summer. The tour kicks off on June 3 in Halifax and will conclude on June 25 in Vancouver, with additional stops in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Calgary.
Back in March, DJ Quik and Snoop Dogg were present at the unveiling of Dr. Dre’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Quik has previously expressed his desire to be seen as Dre’s equal, stating, “I know it’s early. But I deserve to be where Dre is. I don’t think it’s fair, but I understand why.”
Despite the challenges, DJ Quik continues to make his mark in the industry, showcasing his talent through collaborations and live performances. The anticipation for Chupacabra is at an all-time high, with fans eagerly awaiting the release of this star-studded album.
