Unforgettable Hits: Relive Every Song Played in Phoenix with This Must-See Playlist!
Exciting news for fans of The Rolling Stones! The legendary rock band is currently on tour in 2024 in support of their latest album, “Hackney Diamonds.” This album marks their first release of original material in nearly two decades, making it a highly anticipated addition to their impressive discography.
Frontman Mick Jagger expressed his enthusiasm for incorporating new songs into their setlist, alongside classic hits like “Honky Tonk Women” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” In a recent interview with The Arizona Republic, Jagger shared, “I love playing the old songs and all that. But it’s great to be able to have something new because you haven’t done it before. It’s a challenge to you to get it over to the audience and see if they like it.”
When The Rolling Stones performed at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, on May 7, they treated the audience to three tracks from their latest album. This setlist was consistent with their previous shows in Houston and at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Jagger noted that while he would love to include more songs from “Hackney Diamonds,” the stadium setting limits the number of new tracks they can incorporate. He explained, “It’s more difficult with a stadium crowd because they want to hear, you know…. ‘Oh, I’ve come here to hear ‘Paint It, Black…’ ‘When are they gonna play ‘Honky Tonk Women’?”
Despite the challenge of satisfying fans’ expectations, The Rolling Stones delivered an electrifying performance at State Farm Stadium. The concert featured a range of iconic hits, from the energetic opener “Start Me Up” to classics like “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Gimme Shelter,” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” The setlist also included a special performance of “Little T&A” by Keith Richards.
One highlight of the Phoenix show was the debut of “She’s So Cold,” “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll,” and “Monkey Man.” The latter was selected by fans in an online vote, beating out other contenders like Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone.”
While some songs, like “Out of Time,” were dropped from the setlist after initial performances, the band continues to surprise and delight audiences with their dynamic performances. Each show on the tour offers a unique experience, showcasing The Rolling Stones’ enduring musical legacy.
As The Rolling Stones continue their 2024 tour, fans can look forward to more memorable performances and setlist variations. Stay tuned for updates on their upcoming shows and the latest news from the rock icons.
