After being closed for 16 months due to a tragic incident, Brixton Academy opened its doors once again on April 19. The venue welcomed fans with tribute bands like the UK Foo Fighters and Definitely Mightbe, paying homage to iconic artists like Oasis and Nirvana.
But the real magic happened on May 7 when The Black Keys took the stage for the first of three shows. Fans were in for a treat as Noel Gallagher, former lead of Oasis, made a surprise appearance to join the duo on encore tracks Only Love Matters and On The Game.
According to The Irish Independent newspaper, The Black Keys were initially surprised that Gallagher agreed to collaborate with them, as he wasn’t known for co-writing with other artists. Nevertheless, the experience of working with him was described as incredible and magical.
