Evergrey’s lead singer, Tom S Englund, and talented pianist Vikram Shankar embarked on a virtual musical journey that culminated in the creation of their second album, Nectar. Shankar reminisces on how he could easily explore musical ideas by simply walking over to his Moog synth during their virtual meetings. The serendipitous beginning of Silent Skies can be traced back to a YouTube cover of an Evergrey song uploaded by Shankar. Impressed by Shankar’s emotive piano performance, Englund reached out, leading to the inception of their debut album, Satellites, in 2020.
Looking to the future, Silent Skies shows no signs of slowing down. Englund and Shankar, both self-proclaimed workaholics, are already immersed in the creation of their third and fourth albums.
