See the Shocking X-Rays of Kid Cudi’s Broken Foot After Coachella Mishap!
Kid Cudi has shown his fans what a post-Coachella fall looks like, and it’s nothing pretty. The multihyphenate took to Instagram on Thursday, May 9, to reveal his new boot — a customized cast made to isolate his broken foot and aid in the healing process. In the next slide, he showed the astonishing number of screws required to set his foot in place: a total of 10 screws. “Got my boot!” he wrote in the caption. “The road to recovery has begun. Here are some x-rays after the surgery, I wanted y’all to see how real this is. I’m a cyborg now.” Check out the post below.
The 40-year-old rapper and singer ended up breaking his foot when he jumped off the stage during his last-minute performance at the Coachella festival in California. Despite the setback, Kid Cudi learned a valuable lesson from the incident. Lying in bed, he admitted, “Um, yeah. Shit got real yesterday. This is what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26, like he used to do back in the day. I learned a valuable lesson — no more prancing around and jumping off stages.”
While expressing hope of a swift recovery in time for his tour, Kid Cudi reassured his fans that he won’t be canceling anything just yet. He shared, “Just gonna wait and see how things go. But I’m okay; a little sore. Yesterday was a lot of pain, but I’m doing better now. I have a little temporary cast on and I gotta go get a real cast in a little bit. Apparently, I broke something in my heel. This is a major setback. But don’t worry, I’ma bounce back. I love y’all, all day! Engage the rage, but not at 40.”
Shortly after the injury, Kid Cudi took to social media to announce that he won’t be able to recover in time for the “Insano: Engage The Rage” world tour happening later this summer. He revealed, “Guys, so, I have a broken calcaneus. I’m headed to surgery now and there’s gonna be a long recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%.”
He continued, “The injury is much more serious than I thought. Anyone who bought tickets will get a full refund, you’ll get an email soon. We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do. I’m so sorry fam and I love you all so much, thanks for the endless love and support.”
Concluding his message, Kid Cudi assured his fans, “I’m really disappointed, as I’m sure you guys are too, but I will be back. That’s a promise. I’m ok, just a lil soreness, but I’m in good spirits.”
