Spine-Chilling Creepy Nuts Secures Top Spot, Kenshi Yonezu Soars to No. 2 on Japan Hot 100!

Creepy Nuts’ latest track “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” continues its reign atop the Billboard Japan Hot 100, extending its stay to an impressive 12 weeks on the chart dated April 17. This hip-hop hit not only holds the top spot for streaming but also for video views and karaoke, making it a powerhouse in the music scene.

Kenshi Yonezu, a prominent figure in the J-pop music industry, graces the chart with his poignant track “Sayonara, Mata Itsuka!” (“goodbye, see you again sometime”). This song recently debuted at an impressive No. 2 position and is currently featured as the theme song for the NHK morning drama series, The Tiger and Her Wings.

Released digitally on April 8, “Sayonara, Mata Itsuka!” garnered 39,275 downloads in its first week, surpassing the numbers of its predecessor “Spinning Globe.” This emotional ballad also secured spots at No. 8 for streaming and No. 5 for video, proving Yonezu’s undeniable talent and popularity among fans.

Another notable entry on the chart is the catchy tune “Chance wa byodo” (“chances are equal”) by Nogizaka46, which claims the No. 3 spot. Selling a remarkable 713,872 copies in its first week, this single secured the top position for sales while also ranking at No. 15 for downloads and No. 14 for radio. The song’s success reflects the group’s widespread appeal and growing fan base.

Number_i debuts at No. 5 with their electrifying track “Blow Your Cover,” hitting No. 1 for radio, No. 2 for downloads, and No. 7 for video. Their lively performance at Coachella, featuring songs like “FUJI” and a surprise collaboration with Jackson Wang on “GOAT,” further solidifies their position in the music industry.

“Lilac” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE makes a powerful entrance at No. 11 on the chart. Serving as the opening theme for the anime Oblivion Battery, this track lands at No. 4 for downloads, No. 15 for streaming, and No. 8 for video, showcasing the band’s versatile and captivating sound.

Hikaru Utada’s songs off her latest best-of album Science Fiction also make waves on the chart, with tracks like “Traveling,” “First Love,” and “automatic” climbing the rankings. Utada’s consistent success and timeless music continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
