Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Team Up to Curate Chart-Topping Hits for Upcoming Albums
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, two highly acclaimed artists, are currently working on their highly anticipated new albums. Excitingly, it seems like they are collaborating on each other’s projects, albeit unofficially acting as A&Rs for one another.
RiRi recently shared some insights about her upcoming ninth album during the launch party for her FENTY x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone sneaker in London. When asked if her children, RZA and Riot, will be featured on the album, Rihanna expressed her excitement by stating, “I already got stuff that I feel like I can make hits out of. Me and Rocky are really trying to figure out who’s gonna use what because it’s so good!”
When pressed about the visuals for her album, Rihanna playfully kept the details under wraps teasingly retorting, “I can’t tell you! That would be me, like, snitching on my record.”
Rihanna has been more open about her long-awaited follow-up to ANTI. In earlier interviews, she discussed her creative process and the visual ideas that are influencing her upcoming album, stating, “I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all these visuals.” She further added, “I don’t have the songs for them yet, but maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual ideas are leading to the songs that I need to make.”
On the other hand, A$AP Rocky, in preparation for his new project tentatively titled Don’t Be Dumb, has been hinting at a remarkable experience for his fans. He shared in an interview that he has been experimenting with new sounds and expressed, “I’ve been really experimenting as usual and what I like about this is it feels like my best work yet. I want to leave expectations wide and open. I don’t want to tell you what to expect. I just want people to experience it how they do naturally.”
Both artists have teased potential singles for their albums, but neither of them has announced any release dates yet.
