The brainchild of Birmingham Royal Ballet company director Carlos Acosta, Black Sabbath – The Ballet brings together the iconic music of Black Sabbath with the artistic elegance of ballet like never before. Acosta, along with a team of choreographers, composers, designers, dancers, and musicians, has created a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that celebrates the legendary sound of Black Sabbath.
Following its debut in Birmingham in 2023, the ballet has traveled to Plymouth and London, receiving praise and support from Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi. Iommi expressed his excitement about the project, noting the importance of pushing boundaries and trying new things, much like the band did when they first started.
Black Sabbath – The Ballet will kick off its international tour with four dates in the Netherlands, followed by shows in Luxembourg and Germany in 2024. The highlight of the tour will be a series of performances in the USA in 2025, including a seven-show run over five days at The Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington DC.
