Doja Cat made heads turn at the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, showcasing her unique style in a drenched floor-length T-shirt dress. The Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper embraced the wet look not only with her outfit but also with her makeup, with sparkly black mascara running down her cheeks as if she had shed tears.
Prior to her red carpet appearance, Doja Cat was spotted leaving the Mark Hotel wrapped in a towel, along with strappy heels and a diamond necklace. However, once she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, her wet look ensemble was complete, complete with tear-soaked makeup that perfectly complemented the theme of the night.
The standout T-shirt dress was designed by VETEMENTS creative director Guram Gvasalia, who Doja Cat walked the red carpet with on that memorable evening.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the event, Doja Cat explained how her attire aligned with the theme of “The Garden of Time” for the night. “I know that people are going to do flowers, but my flower of choice is the most-used flower — and it’s cotton,” she expressed. “I wanted to do a white T-shirt, also because a white T-shirt is timeless. And it felt very poetic to choose this. I knew it wasn’t going to blend in too much, and I don’t really like to blend in.”
