Dive into the World of Dua Lipa’s Revolutionary Optimism Today!

Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism is dominating the U.K. chart race, with a significant lead based on midweek sales and streaming data from the Official Charts Company. The British pop singer’s third studio album is outselling Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department by a margin of 2 to 1, setting the stage for Lipa’s second No. 1 album.

If the momentum continues, Radical Optimism will mark Lipa’s first album to debut at the top spot. Her self-titled debut album peaked at No. 3 and has spent an impressive 354 weeks on the chart. Meanwhile, her 2020 release, Future Nostalgia, reached No. 1 in its second week and stayed there for four weeks, amassing 203 weeks on the Official Chart so far.

Radical Optimism has already produced three top 10 singles in the U.K., including “Houdini” (No. 2 peak), “Training Season” (No. 4), and “Illusion” (No. 9), solidifying Dua Lipa’s status as a chart-topping artist.

As Lipa’s album continues to soar, Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets is poised to slide from the top spot to No. 2 after a two-week reign. This would mark Swift’s 12th No. 1 album in the U.K.

Additionally, rock artist Frank Turner from Hampshire, England is making waves with his album Undefeated, debuting at No. 3 on the chart update. This release is expected to be Turner’s sixth top 10 appearance in the U.K.

Kelly Jones, frontman of Welsh indie-rock band Stereophonics, is also on track for a solo career milestone with his second album, Inevitable Incredible. The album is set to debut at No. 4, surpassing the No. 8 peak of his debut solo effort in 2020. Jones, with Stereophonics, has achieved eight No. 1 albums in the U.K.

Finally, Scottish indie-pop group Camera Obscura is eyeing their first-ever top 10 appearance in the U.K. with Look To The East, Look To The West, their first studio album in over a decade. The album is set to debut at No. 10, securing a third top 40 placement for Camera Obscura.

Stay tuned for the Official U.K. Albums Chart publication on Friday, May 10, to see how these chart predictions unfold and which artists claim the top spots on the charts.
