Get Ready to Rock Out with Kings of Leon’s Latest Hit: ‘Can We Please Have Fun’ – Listen Now!
Welcome to Music Nation 365, where we bring you the latest scoop on all things music-related. Today, we’re diving into the world of the award-winning sibling act, Kings of Leon. Since their debut in 2003, this band has seen it all – from hits and headline slots to awards and even inter-band fighting. Now, with the release of their ninth album, “Can We Please Have Fun,” via Capitol, Kings of Leon is back in the spotlight.
Their latest LP is led by the single “Mustang,” a shaggy rocker that has already made its way to the top 5 of Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay and Alternative Airplay charts. Bandmate Jared Followill shared with Billboard that their only rule when creating an album is to not have any songs that they would be embarrassed to release as singles. With this in mind, they strive to make each album great, focusing on the music rather than the business side of things.
Having worked with Markus Dravs on their last two full-length albums, Kings of Leon decided to switch things up for their latest project. They brought in Kid Harpoon to guide them through the creation of “Can We Please Have Fun.” The quartet – Caleb, Nathan, Jared, and Matthew Followill – first burst onto the mainstream music scene in the late 2000s with hits like “Use Somebody” and “Sex on Fire.” These songs, from their 2008 album “Only By the Night,” earned the band a Grammy for Record of the Year in 2010.
Throughout their career, Kings of Leon have racked up an impressive collection of awards, including three NME Awards, two Brit Awards, and one Juno. They have headlined major festivals worldwide, from Bonnaroo to Glastonbury, and have even landed a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with “Walls” in 2016.
To celebrate the release of “Can We Please Have Fun,” Kings of Leon will be hitting the road this June for a world tour. Produced by Live Nation in North America, the tour will make stops in 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada, kicking off on August 14 at Moody Center in Austin, TX.
