NBA YoungBoy’s Six-Figure Bond Victory in Prescription Drug Case – Don’t Miss Out on the Details!
NBA YoungBoy’s bond has been officially set as he faces major charges in his prescription drug fraud case. According to FOX 8 in New Orleans, the rapper’s bond was set at $100,000 during a court hearing on Thursday, May 9. An arraignment is scheduled for July.
YoungBoy was arrested last month in connection with a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah. The alleged scheme involved calling in a prescription under a real doctor’s identity with a fraudulent patient name and birthday for Promethazine with Codeine. The prescriptions were later picked up by YoungBoy and his associates. The rapper even allegedly impersonated a doctor during the scheme, using the word “axed” instead of “asked.”
NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was previously charged with 63 counts relating to identity fraud, forgery, obtaining a prescription under false pretenses, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a pattern of unlawful activity, and possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges were later added, including possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of obtaining a prescription without permission.
The rapper was on house arrest in Salt Lake City at the time of his arrest. He had been confined there since late 2021 after being indicted in Louisiana on charges of “felon in possession of a firearm.” YoungBoy, who was previously convicted in 2017 of aggravated assault with a weapon, was allegedly found with two guns during a September 2020 music video shoot in Baton Rouge. He was later arrested on those charges in Los Angeles following a brief chase. Another gun was found in his car during that arrest, leading to a similar case brought against him by federal prosecutors in California.
In 2022, YoungBoy was acquitted of the federal gun charges but is still awaiting trial in Louisiana over the original indictment.
